It’s not uncommon for helicopters to fly very low over my house. There’s a landing pad next-door.

The one that momentarily flew over the backyard today belongs to the Nova Scotia department of Natural Resources.

Here’s another shot of the beast. I went black and white with this one because the detail shows better in monochrome than it does in colour.

It’s now the afternoon. The helicopter came back and I got another shot. This one is my favourite.

  2. Great photos, but, bucking the trend, I think the colour version is really punchy. The tree gives a sense of perspective and the vignette makes the image really 3D and punchy. Excellent, and unusual subject matter, to boot.
