Water Wednesday

Welcome to the first instalment of Water Wednesday!  This event, as the name suggests, will happen on Wednesdays, but probably not every Wednesday. I think it will end up being a bi-weekly or monthly feature (and I strongly suspect that it will take an annual winter hiatus because I do not have an appreciation for water in the solid state). Until I nail down the schedule, this will be a whenever-I-feel-like-posting Wednesday event. Please bear with me until I figure it out.

Water Wednesday—#1

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may know that I like to take part in The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge. The current theme is vivid. As luck would have it, Sunday—my only day off each week—was a fantastic day for capturing vivid colour. I chose two colourful locations for my shoot—the St. Peter’s Marina, and the St. Peter’s canal.

To my surprise, I preferred most of my Sunday afternoon marine shots in monochrome. So, guess what? Today’s Water Wednesday theme is monochrome!

I’m toying with the idea of hosting a Water Wednesday blog hop—I would provide a water related theme/prompt, you would respond to my theme/prompt with a post on your own blog, then leave a link to your post over here. Sound like fun? Would you be up for it? If so, would you prefer it to be a bi-weekly thing, or a monthly thing. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like to join in on the fun.

  1. I don’t have time to join you this Wednesday, but I probably will at some point 🙂
We’re still waiting for the summer temperatures around here, so I haven’t been to the beach yet.

    • I’d love to have you play along! I better put my thinking cap on and come up with some fun theme/prompts.

I live on the water too. There’s a lake (technically an inland sea) practically in the front yard, and I’m a 5-10 minute walk to the ocean. As long as the weather is fine, I have loads of opportunities to photograph water. The more I think about it, the more I’m leaning toward bi-weekly. Then again… monthly is easier.
