Welcome to the first instalment of Water Wednesday! This event, as the name suggests, will happen on Wednesdays, but probably not every Wednesday. I think it will end up being a bi-weekly or monthly feature (and I strongly suspect that it will take an annual winter hiatus because I do not have an appreciation for water in the solid state). Until I nail down the schedule, this will be a whenever-I-feel-like-posting Wednesday event. Please bear with me until I figure it out.
If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may know that I like to take part in The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge. The current theme is vivid. As luck would have it, Sunday—my only day off each week—was a fantastic day for capturing vivid colour. I chose two colourful locations for my shoot—the St. Peter’s Marina, and the St. Peter’s canal.
To my surprise, I preferred most of my Sunday afternoon marine shots in monochrome. So, guess what? Today’s Water Wednesday theme is monochrome!

I’m toying with the idea of hosting a Water Wednesday blog hop—I would provide a water related theme/prompt, you would respond to my theme/prompt with a post on your own blog, then leave a link to your post over here. Sound like fun? Would you be up for it? If so, would you prefer it to be a bi-weekly thing, or a monthly thing. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like to join in on the fun.
