Project 365—Week 21

Week 21 of project 365 was just as much (if not more) about editing than it was about snapping photos. Every image in this post was taken facing the light source. When setting up my shots, I metered for the bright area, and later, I used Lightroom to restore the detail in the underexposed parts.

    • Thanks! That really is the trail to grandma’s house, only I was facing my house when I snapped the photo (which is why I called it “trail from grandma’s house”). Also, the house on the other end is no longer occupied by my grandmother (she died 6 years ago). Every time I’m crouched down in bushes photographing things on that trail, I’m half expecting the wolf to pounce.

  1. Everyone of these is fantastic Amy. It is amazing how much your photography has progressed through your 365 project (and it was already super, so ‘progressed’ really says something) . The stand outs for me are 142 and 144. What I would give to capture something so beautifully. Works of Art

    • Thank you. You are too kind. Is it the starbursts in 142 & 144 that make those ones stand out? They seem to be the most well received on all the platforms I posted them. It’s easy to capture them, just use a small aperture. I used f/22 for the lamp, and f/25 for the tractor light. Before I was using manual settings, I was able to capture starbursts on the “landscape” auto setting.
