I’ve always liked photography, but in 2006, I fell in love with it. At that time, snapping photos—macro photos—suddenly became an uncontrollable obsession. Why, you wonder? In that year, my right retina detached twice. The eye was saved, but my vision will never again be as “good” as it was. I use macro photography to see again.
Today’s photo is inspired by Momma April. And, yes, I am one of the 67,718 people currently logged in to Animal Adventure Park’s live Giraffe Cam. In fact, I’ve been logged in for days hoping to witness a 6′, 150lb bundle of joy enter the world. Dear Lord, will this poor girl’s labour ever end?!
The Sunday before last, my Dad and I made our annual pilgrimage to my uncle’s pasture to get a truckload of manure for my garden. When we were finished shovelling sh*t, I grabbed my camera to snap a few photos while my dad
patiently waited for me in the truck.
Well folks, it looks like the chances of me accomplishing my year long photo a day goal are pretty darn good. I haven’t missed a day yet, and (as of the time I’m scheduling this post to be auto published) I only have 8 photos left to snap. It’s been fun, but I’m really glad it’s almost over.
