When I was a little girl, this is the mug I drank my Nana’s homemade hot chocolate from. Those were the days!
Back in July, when this bottle was emptied, I wanted to take a photo of it. I wasn’t able to do it at the time—the lighting sucked, and (maybe, or maybe not) I was a little tipsy. So… I stashed the bottle in my desk where it sat and waited, and waited, and waited some more, for a day with “dark and moody” light.
Today’s photo is inspired by Momma April. And, yes, I am one of the 67,718 people currently logged in to Animal Adventure Park’s live Giraffe Cam. In fact, I’ve been logged in for days hoping to witness a 6′, 150lb bundle of joy enter the world. Dear Lord, will this poor girl’s labour ever end?!
I’ve moved from plastic to glass, but I did stick with my (mostly) monochrome theme of the week with this shot taken through the mouth of a vase.
In my last post, I said that I was going to make an effort to to capture more images this week, more specifically, monochrome images. Forgive me, but I couldn’t not include colour after tossing in one aqua faux gemstone. I did however, remove the orange and the blue, most of the yellow, and a bit of green from the rest of the image.
I’m not sure why, exactly, but it’s been way too long since I’ve played with my DSLR. In an effort to get back into the practice of snapping photos, I took my camera out of the closet and searched for something simple that would translate well into black and white. That something was the base of a lamp in my office.
